The aim of the project was to outline the product development strategy for two distinct apparel collections, Omna and Kumno, as part of the Meghloom project. Each collection harnesses the unique characteristics of fabrics woven in the Ri Bhoi districts, while embodying different design themes and inspirations.

Omna: A collection of six pieces of apparel is created with Eri silk fabric. This collection creatively uses shorter widths of fabrics woven in Ri Bhoi districts. Omna, as the word symbolises, means pure. This collection highlights the textures of Eri in its true form as created by the artisans. This collection uses a colour palette dyed with natural dyes and kora (undyed Eri). The highlight of the collection is the minimal embroidered details with Eri embroidery threads and easy-to-wear all-purpose silhouettes with box plates and bias cuts. The collection is developed for the multi-purpose use of Eri for all seasons and occasions. 

Kumno: A collection of four pieces of apparel is created with Eri silk fabric. This collection creatively uses shorter widths of fabrics woven in Ri Bhoi districts. Kumno, a Khasi word for hello. This collection is designed for a contemporary audience who likes experimenting with their silhouettes; the Khasi way of life is the inspiration behind this collection. This collection uses a colour palette dyed with natural dyes and a combination of checks and strips. The highlight of the collection is its experimental cuts and silhouettes. The collection is developed for the everyday use of Eri for casual occasions.
